Lesson 2-- MetacognitionIt is here that Mr. Duncan will reveal the book groups, and will go over the idea of Metacognition (thinking about your thinking). This will be an important expectation for your book talks and your final project. Once all is said and done, go and fetch your books from the library!!

We shall practice making notes on our reading. In pods of 4, Mr. Duncan will disperse slips of paper with some text on it. Discuss the text as a group before we share out for the class. Mr. Duncan will make notes on the projector as we come up with ideas, observations, and connections before we take a look at an top knotch example done by Mrs. Cooper! Use this process to prepare for your group book discussions and final projects!

Integrity means being authentic in all situations. To have integrity your actions, words, and beliefs should be in alignment with who you present yourself to be to others, just like the front and back of a book should match what's in the middle.
Create a google slide with 6-10 images that represent your values. We'll see how authentic we are by how many people can recognize us by our slide. |
